Cranberry Melt and Pour Soap Bars
How to make simple melt and pour soap look great in cranberry bars.
Supplies
- Silicone soap mold in your choice of shape. Even silicone muffin molds work too.
- Melt and pour soap base in white.
- Melt and pour soap base in clear.
- Red mica coloring.
- Green mica coloring.
- Small round silicone molds. Tiny round ice trays in silicone work great too.
- Straw for making leaves.
- Kitchen scale if you want to weigh the amounts needed for the molds.
- Knife to cut melt and pour soap.
- Cutting board for cutting soap on.
- Parchment paper for making leaves.
Cut the white soap base into about 1 inch pieces and melt in microwave safe container at 15 to 30 second increments until fully melted.
Then pour into molds and set to cool and harden.
With any left over white, add just enough green mica to color it green. If too much is added the soap bubbles will become green or whatever color was added.
Mix and pour onto some parchment paper in a thin (1/8” about) layer and let cool.
Once cool, with a knife, cut into almond shapes.
mix a small amount of white and clear melt and pour together and melt. Then add red mica and pour into small round molds.
Cut the straw to an easy to work with length and punch it into the edges of the leaves to create a scalloped edge.
Spray top of molds with alcohol to help make the toppings stick, then immediately add leaves and then red “berries” to the top of the molds.
Melt some clear melt and pour soap.
While still in the molds, spray the berries and leaves with alcohol and then pour a thin layer of clear melt and pour it over the top of everything. This creates a nice finish and helps to “glue” everything together.
