Looking for a warm, snuggly gift to sew for a loved one or someone in need? Look no further! This is a great diy quilt that looks great on a bed, or draped over your shoulders.

Supplies

Patterned fabric

5 3 feet by 3 inch white strips

35 6 inch by 3 inch white strips

Bed sheet

Sewing machine

Pick Your Fabric

For this demonstration, I am using the fabrics pictured. You will need about 48 different combinations, so this step may take a while. I would reccomend fabrics of the same material, and ironing may be nessesary.

Cutting

Cut your pieces into 9 1" by 1" squares. Arrange them in a 3x3 square like shown.

Sewing

This is the most time consuming part. Line the squares up, and sew so the seams do not show. Trimming may be required, as the edges are hard to line up!

The Margins

Using the strips of white fabric, pin together along with your squares. This step takes practice and concentration. Finally, carefully sew together.

Back

Now it is time to choose the back part of the quilt. I used a sheet from when I was a baby, but you can use a plain white one is you want. Sew together along the edges of the front of your quilt.
