Put your 2 blankets together on a flat surface and pin all around the outside. Trim any excess material.

NOTE: For this blanket you will not be sewing on the inside so put both of the sides that you want showing facing out.

Cut Corners.

Cut out all 4 corners with your 9 cm x 9 cm square. Remove pins as you cut.

Cut Strips.

File_014 (3).jpeg

Take the small strip (9 cm x 2 1/2 cm) and use it as a guide to cut your strips. Place strip on edge of blanket ( start at the corners ) cut in a straight line up the side of the strip. Do this all around the blanket. Remove pins as you cut.

Fold Each Strip.

After each strip fold it up on other side of the blanket until later.

Slits.

File_006 (3).jpeg

Now that you have your strips cut you need to cut a little slit ( big enough to pull the rest through ) through the center of each folded piece.

Knots.

Now that you have the slits in your strips you need to take the bottom of each strip and pull it through each slit. Do this all around the blanket.

Quilt Lines.

On the back of your blanket draw light straight lines with your measuring tape for sewing later. You can do any pattern. Do as many lines as you want.

Sewing.

Sew along your straight line patterns on the back side of your blanket.

Sew in the Opposite Direction on the Lines.

They should look like diamonds.

Wash and Dry the Blanket Again.

This step is optional but I recommend it if you want the pencil lines washed out.

Enjoy!
