Cozy Crochet Slippers

IMG_20210113_212558781.jpg

Hello!!! When is cold I love to use some homemade slippers. Keeping my feet warm makes me feel less cold at home. These slippers are very easy to make in crochet. We are going to use the chain (ch), double crochet (dc). The measurements of the slipper are for those who wear 36-37, if you wear less, just do less chain points at the beginning, and if you wear a higher number, just add more chains.

Materials

Yarn: Any yarn. I used 2 thin yarns (100 g).

I chose two colors of yarn and used them together.

Tip: choose a sturdy yarn that doesn’t split, and you can use one color to facilitate work but it must be thicker.

Abbreviations:

Chain = ch

Double crochet = dc

Half double crochet = hdc

Slip stitch = sl st

Sk = skip one chain

2 dc = in one chain do two dc

Begin with 25 ch.

Row 1: dc in the 4th ch from the hook an then continue doing dc. When you reach the last chain, do 8 dc (a total of 8 dc must remain in the last chain) and continue dc on the other side until reaching the corner where 7dc must be performed and then join them with sl st to the initial chain.

Row 2: 3 ch to go up, and dc when you reach the first of the 8 dc you did in the corner in row 1, do 2 dc in each chain of the 8, and then continue dc on the other side, until reaching the first of the 8 dc of the corner you did in row 1, do 2 dc in each chain of the 8, and then join them with sl st to the initial chain of row 2.

Row 3: 3 ch to go up, and dc when you reach the first of the 2 dc you did in row 2, do 2 dc in each chain of the 2 dc of row 2 (each of the 2 dc, must have 2 dc in each chain), and continue dc on the other side, until reaching the first of the 2 dc you did in row 1, then do 2 dc in each chain, and join them with sl st to the initial chain of row 2.

Row 4 to 6

Row 4: 3 ch to go up, dc till you reach the first of the 2 dc in row 3, here you need to count 3 dc and then sk, 3 dc and sk, until you finish the part of 2 dc, then do normal dc till you reach the first of the 2 dc in row 3, here you need to count 3 dc and then sk, 3 dc and sk. Then sl st to the initial chain of row 3. In this row the slippers starts to form.

Row 5: do the same as the row 4.

Row 6: 3 ch to go up, and then do 4 dc and sk, then 5 dc and sk, continue like this till you finish the row.

Row 7: In this row, you do the upper part of the slipper. Do 3 ch and sl st with the 3 chain on the side, then 10 dc to the other side and sl st with the third ch.

Row 8: Continue like row 7. Do 3 ch and sl st with the 3 chain on the side, then 11 dc to the other side and sl st with the third ch.

Row 9: Do 3 ch and sl st with the 3 chain on the side, then 11 dc to the other side and sl st with the third ch.

Row 10: Do 3 ch and sl st with the 3 chain on the side, then 11 dc to the other side and sl st with the third ch.

Row 11: This is the last row, the row only covers the part that we didn´t do in row 10. Do 2 ch and do hdc till you get to the other side and do a sl st to close the slipper.

If you want to, you can do a cord of yarn or use a ribbon, to make it look prettier. It should be inserted between the strings of the last round, and your slippers are ready!!!
