Counter/Tracker Bracelet

This is my new favorite project! This bracelet uses beads that slide to track things like glasses of water you drank, laps around a track, golf strokes, and more! The beads don't slip, and the bracelet is so easy to make! Here is the tutorial:

- 15/18 inches of cord

- Beads (number depends on what you are tracking) (pony beads or letter beads work best, because the cord needs to fit through twice)

- A lobster clasp and jump ring

- Scissors

- (optional) glue

- (optional) tape

- (optional) friendship bracelet thread (the length of your arm)

Thread the clasp through the cord, and center it. Tie a square knot (right thread over left, left thread over right)(How to tie a square knot) to secure the clasp.

Thread the left thread through the first bead from left to right, and then the right thread from right to left. Pull the ends to slide the bead to the top and tighten.

Repeat Step 2 with the rest of the beads. Make sure the letters face the right way if you are using them (my bracelet says agua, the spanish word for water, and has eight beads, because I want to drink 8 glasses of water per day).

Slide your last bead down to create a space (about 1/2 inch). Tie a square knot making sure that the space remains. This allows you to distinguish the top part and bottom part of your bracelet.

Measure the bracelet around your wrist. Tie the first part of the knot, then thread the jump ring onto a strand. Tie the second knot to finish. Tie the knot loosely so you can adjust it to fit your wrist. If you like, you can finish the bracelet here!

If you would like, you can tie a friendship bracelet pattern around the empty pieces of cord. Tie it off, and trim.

Trim all of the ends of thread or cord. I like to add some glue to the knot so it does not come undone. Congratulations! You are done.
