I needed to digitalize some old books from my library, and after seeing the solutions offered by the web, I decided to make my own with minimal cost and time sparing.

WHAT YOU NEED

Ikea Drommar Cookie Sheet 6.99 USD

Extendable Handheld Telescopic Self-portrait Tripod Monopod For Camera from Banggood and other sites for 4.60 USD

1/4 Inch Dual Gold Nuts Tripod Mount Screw To Camera Hot Shoe Adapter from Banggood and other sites 1.92 USD

You just have to drill a 6mm hole in the cookie sheet, insert the shoe adapter with the nut to fix it and screw the tripod...DONE!

IF YOU WANT TO DIGITALIZE YOUR BOOKS YOU ALSO NEED:

A camera: I used my old 7 mega pixels Canon Ixus, but you can use any camera or even a smartphone buying a Cellphone Camera Tripod Clip Bracket Holder (Banggood and others at 1.80 USD).

An USB remote shutter release: you can find how to make it here: https://www.instructables.com/id/CHDK-USB-Remote-Sh... If you use a smartphone you can buy a Bluetooth Wireless Remote Camera Shutter Selftimer (ebay, 3.49 USD).

A USB 10 LED light flexible for PC notebook laptop (Banggood and others sites 3.20 USD)

A Battery Emergency USB Charger Power (Banggood 2.38 USD)

A magnet to hold the charger to the cookie sheet (I already had a strong 20 mm neodymium magnet and I used it)

DONE!!!

All you have to digitalize your books is the boring task to take some hundred of pictures and process them with some free OCR program....
