Cook Out Remix or Hamburger Soup
We had a cookout while discussing this years Haunted House but we cooked WAY to many preformed hamburgers. I tried the microwave for a left over burger the next day but it was dry and tough, then I tried to steam one and that was just nasty and then I thought about Wendy's chili, the rumor is they reuse old burger patties in their chili.. hmmmm
Ingredients
as usual this is more of a guide than a recipe please feel free to add or subtract ingredients to fit your families tastes or circumstances.
I had
14 store bought beef patties cooked over a charcoal grill, there were also 5 hotdogs
3 medium cans of fire roasted diced tomatoes with various additives (see picture)
3/4 bottle of catsup
2 green bell peppers, diced
2 medium onions diced
brown sugar
prepared yellow mustard, about 3 tablespoons, I just squeezed until it looked right
red wine vinegar
cumin, dry mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, chili , red pepper, mrs dash steak seasoning
A1 style steak sauce
NOTICE THERE IS NO SALT LISTED , We americans use WAY TOO MUCH salt

Prep and Cook
cut the meat patties into bite size pieces, I cut the hotdogs length wise then each half length wise and then chopped them
the onions and peppers got a rustic chop (larger pieces), dump it all into a crock pot, add the ketchup, mustard and the cans of diced tomatoes plus one can of water, add the remaining ingredients to taste or you could use a packaged chili or sloppy joe mix. Cook on high for 1hr then on low for 6-8hrs

Serve
I used some of the left over hotdog rolls and jalapeno cheese to make toasted cheese sticks for dipping and of course I added some ghost pepper heat to mine
Conclusion and Alternative Serving Suggestions
This is one of those experiments that is a real keeper, you still get the charcoal flavor and it really tastes like a spoonful of fully dressed hamburger or cheeseburger if you're dipping the cheese bread.
My brother said "hamburger soup? you're nuts" but he went back for seconds, even my picky 6yo granbrat liked it
Withe a little more water (or tomato juice) this would be fantastic over rice or with pasta noodles
perhaps add in some grilled corn or just canned corn and or maybe some beans
