Conversation Heart Bracelet

Hello Makers! How's it going?

I'm finally working on my valentines on time! Every year it's always a scramble to get them done in time, BUT NOT THIS YEAR! And all it took was a pandemic!

To be fair, I'm just making a handful for a few close rollerskating friends, unlike the usual 50-60 required for giving one to everyone in middle school. Yes, I am the person who gives everybody presents at every opportunity.

But since I don't need to mass produce valentines this year, I have the freedom to get a little more involved.

So *cue music* RAINBOW CONVERSATION HEART BRACELETS!

Wait, just to clarify, DO NOT EAT! It's polymer clay not whatever sugary chalk real ones are made of.

OK now we can make them.

Supplies

Polymer clay in ROYGBIV and white. (or just the primaries if you are one of those artist types). Mix to make pastels.

Crystal beads. Like those swarovski crystals thingies. Honestly tho I think mine are just cheapo plastic ones from when I was a kid and you could probably use those too.

Elastic string. I like that elonga stuff from beadalon but just use whatever.

Red sharpie (fine tip is easiest)

Shape Hearts

Shape a heart shape of polymer clay and spear it with a toothpick sideways to make a hole. Take the toothpick out before you bake it obvi. NO FIRE, OKEYDOKEY?

Make one each of pastel red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

Bake according to instructions on your polymer clay.

Add Little Messages

Using the red sharpie, write little messages. You can write whatever you like. Since I am not dating anyone, I chose some nonromantic messages like LOL and HUGS. Also, one of my friends is in a relationship with another friend, so I'm not going to be weird and send a "be mine" bracelet to her girlfriend.

Anyway. Moving on.

String

String on elastic in order shown. Use as many crystal beads as needed for your wrist size.

Tie in a loop and enjoy!

Bye for now,

Sewphia

P.S. Nail art instructable collaboration with Wagashi coming soon. Stay tuned.
