Here's what you'll need to make this unique frame...

  • a mat frame
  • a sheet of cardboard
  • scissors
  • a roll of patterned contact paper
  • your favorite photo or image printed from your computer
  • Tacky Glue
  • pen
  • ruler
  • Optional: Mod Podge / sponge brush

Prep the Frame and Cardboard

To start, cut a piece of contact paper to the same size as your mat frame, peel off the backing, and carefully stick it to the top of your frame. Then, using scissors or X-acto knife (for best results) to cut the middle rectangle.

Once you've finished that, cut a piece of cardboard to the size, slightly smaller than your frame.

For those parts, I find it best to use a ruler and a pen or marker to trace out your frame for precise cutting.

Add Photo

Now, make a copy of your favorite photo or image enlarged on your computer so that it is slightly bigger than your cardboard. Cut out the image and glue it to the cardboard. You can also use a poster of your favorite characters or favorite music group. I'm using a poster of Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck. Then, just attach to the back of your frame with a few pieces of tape!

Decorate

If your prefer, you can also decorate with small embellishments to make it very special!

Ready to Hang
