Hello, I am Graham Stover, a 9th grader in Fairview Highschool in Boulder Colorado. I just decided to make a design of Connect 4 through

Fusion 360 cause I feel like a bunch of people love the game. Sadly I was not able to take photos while making the Connect 4 but I will try to put some images and explain my best through text. Enjoy!

Supplies

Make the Box

Screenshot 2023-04-10 201411.png

The first step is that you will want to make a sketch on the Z and X axis. To make a Rectangle with a Width of 247mm and Length of 197 mm. Then extrude the Rectangle to 6.5 mm

Making the Holes in the Box on the Top

Next thing is that you will want to make another sketch on the Y and X axis that is another rectangle. That is 4 mm for the length and 34 mm for the width. You would then want to use the line it up on top of the box and make it 1.25 mm away from the width side and 1 mm away from the length side. You are then gonna want to use the rectangular pattern then want a quantity of 7 boxes and spread then out evenly while it is still on the top of the box. You will then extrude the all the 7 boxes to cut the box and make the 7 holes. (it needs to go all the way to the bottom to the top)

Making the Circle Holes in the Box

Screenshot 2023-04-10 204020.png

You are gonna want to make a sketch on the Z and X axis to make a circle that has a diameter of 26 mm. You will then do the same thing like the Hole boxes and use the rectangular pattern even spread them out with a quantity of 7 circles for the width and quantity of 6 circles for the length. Then you will do the same thing where you will use extrude to cut the box with all the circles. So you will now have a 6x7 Connect 4.

Add the Slider Lever

On the bottom of the Box you will want to make an L shape sketch between the holes of the box on both sides. You will want to make the Length of the long side of the L 3 mm. For the Length of the other side 2 and 1 mm. Make the width of the bottom of the L 2.75 mm and 1.5 for the 2nd biggest width of the L. You will than want to extrude the two Ls to 240 mm. You will also want to add a small boxes above the Ls and make the length 1.697mm and width of 2.51 mm. Then just extrude it to 0.855 mm. You will then make a box at the end of the 240 mm Ls and make the width 8 mm and length 2.59 mm. (look at pictures if this does not make sense)

Making the Slider Lever

You are gonna want to go back to sketches and a basically use a bunch of rectangle sketches to make a U shape with grippers at the top. You are gonna want to make the bottom width 12.10 mm, both of the side lengths 3.8 mm. width on top of both the grippers is 2.70 mm. The width of the Width that is in the middle is 9.9 mm. The side lengths inside the U shape is 1.41 mm and the side lengths of the grippers is 1.7 mm. The widths of the bottom of the grippers is 1.6 mm. You will then want to extrude this sketch to 213 mm. (Use pictures again to have a idea)

Adding Holes to the Slider Lever

Screenshot 2023-04-10 212250.png

You are now gonna use the same sketch you use when you first made the rectangle holes. Put it in the slider and do the same thing like the 2nd step where we put the rectangle holes on the box. We will use the rectangular pattern again but instead of 7 for the quantity you will use 6 instead.

Adding the Handles/hangers to the Connect 4

You are gonna want to make another sketch that is on the both sides of the connect for that is 160 mm for the length and 40 mm for the width. You will then extrude this to 6.5 mm and then you will make a another sketch to make the holes that is 27.7 for the width and 68.3 mm for the length. You are gonna want to add this to both sides (Probably look at photos)

Finally the Chips

Screenshot 2023-04-10 213741.png

You are now gonna make another sketch that is a circle that has aa diameter of 31 mm and then extrude it to 3.5 mm. You are now gonna make another sketch for another circle that has the diameter for 30 mm and you will use this sketch to cut the circle out 1 mm on the top and bottom then you will finally have your chip. You will now need to just Crl + c, Crl + v it till you have 42 chips

Color It and Have Fun!

It doesn't matter how you color, you just have to have a two colors for 21 chips so that you can actually tell the difference. Other than that, Have Fun!
