Confetti Cookies

IMG_1519.jpg

This recipe takes about forty minutes and yields about thirty cookies.

These cookies taste better than your out of the oven grandmother's cookies. The clear vanilla extract adds to that flavor, although regular vanilla extract will suffice. In fact, I used regular vanilla extract when making these.

Have fun baking;)

Cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar on medium speed, until the mixture is light and fluffy. This should take about two minutes. Then scrape the sides of the bowl.

Add the Vanilla and Egg

Add the vanilla/egg mixture on low speed until incorporated. The dough should be moist yet still be able to hold together.

Now its time to add the dry ingredients ;)
Slowly add the flour on low speed until incorporated. Next, add the cream of tartar and baking soda at the same speed. Finally, add the salt. Mix until combined. The dough should be starting to look like cookie dough. Turn off the beaters.

Add Sprinkles

Add one cup of sprinkles or one container of sprinkles to the dough. Then use your hands to mix the sprinkles in the dough. You will know you are done when the sprinkles are evenly mixed throughout. Now the dough is ready to be scooped out.

Scoop Out Dough

Scoop out the dough in 1-1 1/2 tablespoon measurements or a medium cookie scoop, your hands will be just fine for scooping out the dough. Roll the balls in your hands to smooth out rough edges.

Place on Baking Sheet

Place the cookie dough balls on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Evenly space twelve of them on the baking sheet.

Bake

Bake the cookies in the 350 degrees preheated oven for 10 minutes. Bake until golden brown with cracks running through the cookie. The cookies look doughy when they come out of the oven but when they cool they get firm.

Cool

Allow them to cool for five minutes.
Best eating right after;)
