Today i'll be showing you how I made this simple & modern looking concrete hanging lamp.

Let's get started!

Bill of Materials.

Here's what you'll need:

Flat aluminium rods, i chose 2mm x 10mm x 2m for this purpose (i used 2 of them in total)

A concrete hang lamp which can be bought in most lighting store, i picked this one up for about 8 euro's.

Prepping the Fixture

We'll need a way to secure the aluminium rod to the fixture, i chose to create a slot in the concrete cap. The rods will simple slide in and will remain inside by friction.

I used a small drill to make a bunch of holes next to each other, using a small screwdriver to connect the together by chipping away the concrete. Make sure you test fit a piece of the rod you'll be using! It needs to be snug!

Bending the Rod

There isn't anything more to it than bending in sharp angles, I used my vise to create these, but it can easily be done by hand as the rod is so thin. Make sure to add some twists in between two corners to make for some great additions.

Keep checking your angles on the fixture so your rods don't bump into each other, it's very easy to bend them a little less or a little more though.

FInished!

I chose to paint my light black after a good coat of primer, I really liked the outcome!
