I (Steph) had the idea to make a concrete light complete with concrete lamp shade (which we hadn't seen done before) so we decided to give it a try!

  • Life Water Bottle (Amazon)
  • 1" PVC Pipe and Cap (Home Depot)
  • 6" Flower Pot (Target)
  • 8" Flower Pot (Target)
  • Quikrete Countertop Concrete Mix (Home Depot)
  • Silicone (Home Depot)
  • LED Lights (Amazon)
  • Aluminum tape (Amazon)
  • 1 3/4" Hole Saw (Home Depot)
  • Random Orbital Sander (Home Depot)

Fill Bottle With Concrete and Place Pvc Pipe in Middle

Fill Pot With Concrete and Vibrate Mold

Remove Molds After 24 Hours

Place LED Light in Shade

The PVC cap cast inside the shade attaches to the PVC pipe inside the base for a nice tight fit! We were really happy with how this turned out that we decided to make another version, this time incorporating el wire!
