Computer Build 1 KCTC 2nd Session

You will need the following parts to complete your build:

1) Motherboard

2) CPU

3) Heat sink + Fan

4) RAM

5) Computer Case

6) Hard Drive

7) Power Supply

8) Graphics Card

Step One: Install the CPU

Pull up the CPU lock down arm.

Align the CPU using the golden triangle.

Be careful not to force the CPU into the socket.

It should just drop in without any resistance.

Push down the CPU lock down arm.

Step 2: Apply Thermal Paste

Apply a rice sized dab of thermal paste in the center of the CPU.

Step 3: Install the Heat Sink

Align the clips and lock down the heat sink.

Step 4: Install the RAM

Align the notch on the RAM module with the notch on the motherboard's DIMM slot.

Press down until you hear a click.

Step 5: Install the Standoffs and I/O Shield

Install the standoffs to match your corresponding motherboard.

Install your I/O shield with the proper orientation.

Be careful not to cut yourself on the sharp edges.

Step 6: Install the Motherboard

Align the motherboard with the standoffs and put in the screws.

Step 7: Install the Graphics Card

Align the graphics card and push it into the socket.

Add the screw for extra support.

Step 8: Connect Your Front Panel Connectors

Use the text on the motherboard to identify where you should plug in your USB and audio cables.

Follow the diagram provided by your motherboard manufacturer for the power, reset and led connections.

Step 9: Install Your Power Supply

Align the power supply and insert the 4 screws at the back of the case.

Step 10: Install the Hard Drive

Mount the hard drive.

Install the SATA data and power cables.

Step 11: Connect the Motherboard Power Cables

Connect the 24-pin and 4-pin cables to your motherboard.

Step 12: Cable Management

Tuck away the rest of your unused cables.

Step 13: Install Chassis Fan

Screw in the fan with the label facing the outside of the case.

Plug the chassis fan into the System_Fan_1 pins.

Your Done!
