This is a computational sculpture that accesses data from the web and moves/reacts accordingly. This sculpture, specifically, is based on raising awareness of the harmful effects of social media and news outlets. To do this, it uses data from the NewsApi to check daily if there have been at least 3000 news articles published with the keyword 'War' in the title. If this is true, then the sculpture plays once per day.

DF Player Mini - Arduino mp3 player : used to play audio file of news recording

NeoPixel Led Strip: Used to light up each tv

8ohm Speaker: Audio output

Video Description

When the sculpture is activated (if 3000 news articles have been published), it will light up each tv randomly until they are all lit. Once all tvs are lit, they will start randomly blinking rapidly. In the background a audio recording of various news reports will play. All of this together accomplishes the feeling of how overwhelming social media and media in general can be at once.
