Compact Autonomous Lift Truck

Hi, my name is Lucas Stoner and I am a Homeschooled student.

when I first saw the lift truck contest I thought of all the possibilities that could be incorporated into a redesigned lift truck, some include:

• Compactness
• Mobility
• Ease of use

so I decided to concentrate on those concepts.

for this desgin I used:

• Autodesk Fusion 360
• Graph paper

whenever I think of a design I first start with paper, in this case I used graph paper to sketch out my design. Then I started modeling.

For the lift part of my design I incorporate the use of a hydraulic scissor lift to raise the forks up and down enabling the forklift body to act as a storing compartment for the lift. (this can be edited to add extra crossbeams for more height)

For mobility I used mecanum wheels to allow omnidirectional movement which in turn frees up space in the warehouse for safety and/or easier mobility.

The last part that I focused on was ease of use, for this I decided on a autonomous or WIFI controlled lift truck. This will help with warehouses either not needing drivers altogether or very few in a small office controlling or overseeing the trucks.
