Communicating Through Text
It seems the only way to get a kids attention today is to talk to them via a text message on a tablet or cell phone. They just do not seem to hear spoken words, (at least my grandkids don't) so I decided to write a poem of what I wanted to tell them. I then put it down as a text message on a drawn version of a tablet! No deleting this message! It can be hung on the wall as a reminder!
Supplies
- A sheet of paper
- A pencil
- Fine tip Permanent pen
- Electrical Symbols Template (or ruler, i used this because it also had little shapes I could use as well as ruler)
- The message you want to convey (mine was a poem I wrote for grandkids)
LET US BEGIN
- Using the ruler on side of template I placed it on the paper and began writing my message in ink.
- Slide ruler down to begin writing the second line of text. This at least kept the bottom of my text lines somewhat even.
- Continue doing this until you have finished the message
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
- After the text is done, take the ruler and pencil lines around the body of text making it resemble that of a text message screen. Lightly shade it in with pencil so it resembles a text box. (Shown with red arrows)
- Now again using the ruler, pencil lines around the outside of this so it resembles a phone or tablet. (Shown with blue arrows)
- Lastly, add details to the drawing to make it resemble text screen, like time, internet strength, charge %, etc.(Shown with yellow marks)
- Now you can cut it out and frame it or simply thumbtack it to a wall as a reminder!
