These hats are easy to make, and turn out wonderfully. They are great gifts, and keep you warm on a cold day. They can be folded at the edge, or you can wear it in a 'slouchy' style. Any way you wear it, it will keep you cozy.
Supplies
You will need:
Yarn
A crochet hook
Scissors
A yarn needle
A ruler (optional)
Make a Chain

Make a chain 20 inches long. It will be more or less depending on how big you want your hat. 20 inches is for a teenager/ adult.

Once you have finished row 2 continue making rows until your work is about 20x10 inches.
Start Sewing Edges Together

Cut your project off of the ball of yarn with a lot of extra yarn hanging off. About 2 ft. Thread your yarn needle onto the extra yarn attached to your hat. Then bring the 2 shorter sides together and sew together with the yarn needle. Then cut and tie it off.
Close the Top

Once your project looks like a sort of tube, you are going to want to sew one end of it together. The best way to do this is to thread your yarn needle, and weave it in and out of the top of one of the open sides of the 'tube'. Once you wove it all the way around, you should be able to pull the yarn, and it should close like a draw string bag. Once it is pulled tight, tie the yarn many times and cut it about 1/2 inch from the knot.
Flip Inside Out

Flip your hat inside out. You can fold the edge or you can leave it slouchy. You're all finished!
