Rubber Band are items that are always available at home, even though I don’t remember spending a cent on them.

Now are you feed-up and frustrated of using the Rubber bands a regular way and by now I am sure you have used a pair of scissor or a sharp knife to cut the bands if they are secured to tight.Solve this pesky problem by using the 3D printed Comfortable Rubber Band Ties as show in the picture above.

I have 3 types of Rubber Band Ties for different purposes

  • from comfortably tying a bag of chips using a tiny tie
  • and using it as a money clip using the medium sized tie
  • to using a couple of Pant ties to prevent your pant from tangling and tearing when your out an about on your Bike.

Leave a comment below if you think of any other use cases ..

Download the 3D printing software that you printer supports, in my case i am using the Printrbot Simple Metal which use Repetier-Host as a software to

  • Slice the STL files attached, which basically means cutting the part into various layers
  • And send commands to the 3D printer while printing

Tiny Ties

Use the Tiny tie to tie a bag of chips to keep them nice and fresh Or use them to tie a bag of lettuce.

Or if you are a teenager and have a 3D printer at school 3D print a couple of these when money is tight, and you have a pair of hair ties.

Download the TinyTies.stl file attached in Step 1 and load it in your printer software and slice the file, based on your printer setting.

And the print time should be about 5 - 7 mins

Medium Sized Ties

Use the Medium ties instead of a money clip to wrap it around your stash of Benjamin Franklins or your ID ,driver's license and credit cards if you have stopped caring cash.

Or if you need to use a rubber band ties to keep flower heads together to maintain the perfect height of the flowers in a vase.

Or if you want to tie and secure a old duffle bag top tightly, watch the video above which shows you a simple technique of threading the rubber band through hole on top so that you can tighten..

Download the MediumTie.stl file attached in Step 1 and load it in your printer software and slice the file, based on your printer setting.
And the print time should be about 6 - 9 mins

Have you had a situation when you out an about and enjoying your snow activity which in my case is SnowBoarding and have inners/jeans get wet as your snow pant bottom is not effective enough using this simple trouser tie with a rubber band should be able to prevent the problem for some time

Or if it is summer and you love getting around with you bike use a couple of Pant ties to prevent damage to the bottom of your pant.

Download the PantTie.stl file attached in Step 1 and load it in your printer software and slice the file, based on your printer setting.
And the print time should be about 15- 17 mins
