Combination of Simple Machines
In the early days, if we want to lift or move something we use our bare hands which is very very difficult. Then one day there comes an idea to make this easier. i.e. we have to put a log under the heavy object and push it downwards. Thus the first simple machine was invented.
Simple Machines are basic mechanical devices for applying a force and doing work.
Simple machine, any of several devices with few or no moving parts that are used to modify motion and the magnitude of a force in order to perform work...
The simple machines are inclined plane, lever, wedge, wheel and axle, pulley, and screw.

Simple Machine
Machines:
Machines are devices that allow either a larger force to be produced or a greater distance moved.
Simple machines:
Basic physical tools we use to do work. It makes our work easier. The machines help us to change the direction of force, to increase the force applied, or to increase the distance or speed through which force acts.
Some simple machines are :
1.Lever
2.Screw
3.Incline Plane
4.Wedge
5. Wheel & Axle and Pulley.
Lever
Lever :
It is a simple machine made of a rigid beam and a fulcrum.
The effort (input force) and load (output force) are applied to either end of the beam.
When an effort is applied to one end of the lever, a load is applied at the other end of the lever. This will move a mass upward.
Real-Time Examples:
1.Bottle Opener
2. Scissors
3. see-saw
4.Tweezer
Wheel and Axle
Wheel and Axle :
As the name implies, a wheel and axle is a smaller wheel or pulley, a larger wheel or pulley that is fixed to a shaft to increase mechanical features or speed.
Real-Time Examples:
1. Pizza Cutter
2. Office Chair Wheels
3. Electric Fan
4. Car wheels

Pulley
Pulley: usually stationary and wrapped with rope or chain. When you pull the rope, the wheel rotates. The more pulleys you have, the less force needs to be exerted to lift an object.
Real-Time Examples:
1. Flag pole
2. Well
3. Roll up Window blinds

Inclined Plane
Inclined Plane - “A surface that is at an angle against a horizontal surface.”
A flat surface (or plane) that is slanted, or inclined. Therefore it can help move objects across distances.
One end of the plane is low and the other end of the plane is high.
Real-Time Examples :
1. Staircase
2. Wheelchair ramp
3. Ladder
4. Slanted Roof

Wedge
Wedge:
It is an object that tapers to a thin edge. Pushing the wedge in one direction creates a force in a sideways direction. It is usually made of metal or wood and is used for splitting, lifting, or tightening, as in securing a hammer head onto its handle.
Real-Time Examples:
1. Door stopper
2. Fork
3.Shovel
4.chisel

Screw
Screw:
It is a modified version of an inclined plane. If the inclined plane is wrapped around a cylindrical object, it becomes a screw. When you turn a screw, the inclined plane is called into effect to separate wood or other materials. Screws are very hard to remove because the plane around their body creates tooth-like roots in the wood.
Real-Time Examples:
1. Faucet
2. Drill
3. Jar Lid
4. Air screw propeller
