Hello, my name is Kordel Kohnen. I have worked and still working on vehicles with stock and modified engines. Have you ever had a cold air intake and then have a loss of power or no get up to it? Today, I’m going to show you how to clean your cold air intake and increase power with it. I’m going to show you in a few simple steps how to clean an air intake and put it all together. We all have had trouble with an engine not working right or giving off enough power. Most people don’t realize in a few steps you can fix that problem by simply cleaning your air intake

Supplies

Things you will need

supplies needed a flat head screwdriver and cleaner with oil. Rough country doesn't sell their own so K&N will be fine for use.

Take Intake Off

First, take off your intake off of your vehicle and shake It free of any excessive dirt or foreign material.

Clean Intake

After you do so you will then spray the cleaner on the inside and outside of the intake. Do not soak it but put a nice film on it. This will decompose the dirt and any foreign material in the intake. Let that sit for 10 minutes. Do not let the cleaner dry on the intake.

After the 10 minutes or so take the intake and rinse it good with cool water. Make sure to get all of the cleaner out.  Afterwards let the intake air dry. Make sure the intake is dry, if it is not the oil will not stick and do its job. This process will take a long time. I usually do this a night before and then do the following steps the next day.

Oiling

Oil

Eventually, once your intake is nice and dry, take the oil you have bought for the intake and spray a nice film on it. Do not add to much oil to it. Do the inside and out. Once that Is done let air dry for 20 minutes or until dry.

Ending

Finally, once the oil is dry on the intake you can then reinstall the intake and now you have officially cleaned a wet cold air intake.
