Simple as it sounds: a coat hanger made from a bullhorn bike handlebar.

I apologize in advance for some grammar / language mistakes that might be in this instructable, but as you can see from my profile I'm Italian.

Gather the Supplies

Note: the following measures are suitable for my bike stem length (mostly the distance between the two holes). Usually bike stems have a standard size, but I recommend to measure yours and make sure that everything fits.

You will need:

  • a bullhorn bike handlebar
  • a bike stem with a 3,5 cm / 1,4 in distance between the two holes (see the pics)
  • a small rectangular piece of plywood (5,5 x 4,5 cm / 2,2 x 1,8 in)
  • 2 screws (4,5 cm / 1,8 in or more)
  • 2 wall plugs (3 cm / 1,2 in)

Needed tools are:

  • hacksaw
  • drill
  • hammer
  • screwdriver

Cut the Plywood

Take a plywood panel and cut a small rectangle of 5,5 x 4,5 cm / 2,2 x 1,8 in.

The stem should stay entirely within the area; make sure to leave some clearance between the screws and the edge of the rectangle.

Drill the Wall and Insert the Plugs

Use a drill with a 5 mm bit (according to my 5 mm wall plugs diameter) to make two holes 3,5 cm / 1,4 in apart. Don't go deeper than 3 cm / 1,2 in.

With the hammer, push the plugs inside.

Assemble Everything

Tighten the screws to attach the plywood to the stem and let them stick out just of a few millimeters.

Give the final strong tighten when every piece is in its place and the handlebar is in the desired angle.

Done
