For this project, i was tasked with designing a co2 car that fit the parameters assigned. I decided to go with a shuttle design because I really enjoy anything to do with space travel and aerospace engineering.

**SAFTEY INFO**

To make sure you are safe while doing this You want to wear padded gloves as well as safety glass. Because of how fast it goes and how much your infill it is it may BREAK and pieces could come flying at you.

Make sure you store your co2 cartridges in a dry room temperature environment before use to prevent accidental discharge.

You also want to store your co2 cartridges in a well-padded box or bag.

Make sure you are following all the safety guidelines concerning co2 cartridges where you live as well.

Step 1. The first step of this is to 3D print your CO2 car. I used a Makerbot printer to make this but you may use any software or printer you like! I did this print at 15% infill to minimize weight but you may want to do it at a higher infill so it will be more durable. I also chose to do 3 shells around the holes so that eyehooks have area to screw into.

NO SUPPORTS NEEDED.

Inserting Eye Hooks

Your next step is to insert your eyehooks into your print. You may need to use pliers to screw them in but once they are in they should be rigid and hard to move.

Inserting Wheels and Axel

Your next step is to insert your axles and your wheels. If the axles are too short use shears to cut them to an appropriate length. The front wheel may be tricky to get in so what you want to do is partially insert your axle and then put your wheel a close as you can to the wheel hole and insert it.

For this step what I did was setup a track that was connected with fishing line and when you want to race them you put the eyehook onto the line. An alternative method is to set up two poles between 15 and 30 feet apart and run fishing line between them. You can use a speedometer to see how fast your car went or you can record it and use the frames of the camera to determine the speed.
