Cluster Beans / Gavarfali Dhokli With Wheat Flour Dumplings-DIY Indian Recipe
One day i was watching my mom making something special and delicious and from then onwards i am a dead fan of this recipe. I aksed my mom to tell me recipe and also train me how to cook so finally i made it one day and now i am going to instruct to make the same with your own hands.
Gavarfali dhokli/ cluster beans and wheat flour dumplings , two fibre-rich ingredients – gavarfali (cluster beans) and wheat – come together in this delicious recipe, making it a really healthy treat!
Serve hot with phulkas or can be had as is. String and boil the cluster beans before use.This is a rajasthani dish and my favorite , mom thought me this recipe .
Lets Begin!
Ingredients
For The Dhokli
1. 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
2. 1 tsp carom seeds
3. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
4. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
5. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
6. 1 tsp oilsalt to taste
7. 1 cup mix of pulses
Other Ingredients
1. 1 tbsp oil
2. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
3. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
4. 2 cups cluster beans (gavarfali) chopped
5. salt to taste
6. 1 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
7. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
8. 1 tsp red chilli powder
9. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
10. 1 tsp dhania/ coriander powder
11. 1 sprig curry leaves
12. Salt to taste
Method
Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl and knead into firm dough using enough water.
Divide the dough into 20 equal portions and shape them into rounds.
Press each portion into a flat circle by pressing between your palms and then a small hole in between with your thumb ( this helps them cook evenly and faster). Cover and keep aside.
Add Them All!
In a pan add plenty amount of water to cook the cluster beans and dhokli .
When the water starts boiling add the cluster beans and dhokli and cook them till they are done.
Now strain cluster beans and dhokli and store the water. Add the red chilli powder, turmeric, cumin, dhania powder and salt to the strained cluster beans and dhokli.
In a pan heat oil add cumin seed and mustard seeds and when they crackle add the cluster beans and dhokli mixture.
Now add a little amount of store stock to the mixture so that they are well combined.
This will take around 15 minutes to cook

Now this is ready to serve
Serve with a coriander and chopped onion if you like on it.
