Cleaning the Dishes
As a college student, it can be an inconvenience to clean the dishes and to make time for it. It is important to have clean dishes so that both the kitchen is clean and you are able to use these dishes when needed.
Supplies
Your dirty dishes, dish brush, detergent, water stopper, and a dish towel.
Gather the Dishes
Walk around your entire house to make sure you have all of the dishes.
Scrap and Stack
There may be food left on the plate, like a cheeseburger from the other night, so make sure all food debris is removed. If it can’t fit down the drain, it needs to go in the trash. Then stack all the dishes to get ready for the next step.
Fill Up the Sink With Water
Get a plug and start filling up the sink. If you want, you can add soapy water for an extra clean dish.
Put the Dishes in the Water
Putting the dishes in the water will allow them to soak and make it easier to get all the food off.
Scrub the Dishes
Grab a dish brush and get all the food and other stains off it.
Put the Dishes in the Dishwasher
Put all your dishes in your dishwasher, however is the best way for you to do it.
Put the Detergent In
Turn on the Dishwasher
For my dishwasher, I have to press power then push start. Once I have pressed start I have 4 seconds to close it, if I don’t, then it won’t start. Depending on your dishwasher, you’ll just need to click start and it should do everything for you.
Clean the Sink
Now that we are waiting for the dishes to be done, we can clean up the mess we just made. Clean the sink and make sure all the food is down the drain and wipe up all the water on the counter around it. Following this clean all your counters while you wait.
Dry the Dishes
Now that the dishes are done, there are still some with water on them. Grab a towel and dry them so they can be clean and dry.
Put the Dishes Away
Put all your dishes in their correct places
