In this instructable we will show a simple easy way to clean old sneakers and give them new life, with items that you probably already have in your house. I used this method to clean my two year old adidas, which have been through mud, rain storms, and more. Now my cleaned sneakers have been revived and can continue to to be the excellent shoes which they are.

Making Your Cleaning Solution

Mix baking soda with laundry detergent until it forms a nice loose paste, seen in the photo. You should try to have a 1:2 ratio of soda to detergent, but as long as the constancy is right you should be okay. After everything is incorporated add the toothpaste and mix. Your shoes are ready for cleaning!

Toothbrush Scrubing

Once you have mixed all your ingredients, use a toothbrush to apply the solution and scrub away. Make sure to remove the laces first. Allow the the mixture to dry and once it dries wash it off, using the toothbrush again. Allow your sneakers to dry and enjoy your newly cleaned sneakers.
