Make your own monogram gift tags (or ornaments).

What you’ll need:

  • Bookmania by Mark Simonson
  • Polymer clay
  • Rolling pin
  • X-ACTO knife
  • Gold spray paint
  • Baker’s twine
  • Skewer or toothpick
  • Oven

Unwrap your polymer clay and begin to soften the clay by kneading with your hands.

Flatten the clay using your rolling pin until it’s 1/4-inch thick.

Select the letter you want for your monogram and the point size you want. Print the letter and it cut out. Place it on top of the clay. You’ll use it as a stencil. Take your X-ACTO knife and cut through the paper into the clay.

Use a toothpick or a BBQ skewer to poke a hole through the top of your letter. This will allow you to loop string through so you can hang it on a present or the Christmas tree.

We also made some gift tags using letter stamps. You can create almost any shape with the clay.

Bake your letters (and gift tags if you made any) for 20 minutes at 275 degrees Fahrenheit. Let cool for an hour and then you can spray paint them. We chose metallic gold.

Loop the baker’s twine through the hole in each letter and finish with a knot. They’re ready to hang or tie to a gift.
