It is pretty simple, you just get out a decent sized chunk of clay and roll it into a ball.

Make Another Tiny Ball

PicsArt_03-08-09.21.17.jpg
From the big ball take 1/4 of the clay and make another tiny ball. Leave the rest of the 3/4 there. Put the tiny ball aside

Make a

Take the big ball and roll it out like a snake. Take the bottom of your hand and roll it back and forth.

Cut "Snake"

So I realized the snake was too long so know we are going to cut it a little bit so that it is smaller. And then smooth out the edges. So then is should be a smaller snake :D

Small Ball

Now get out for smaller ball that we saved aside, get out a knife and cut it in half these will be out arms.

Focus on 1

Cut 2

So take the really big stick and put it aside again. Focus on the twins and cut them at the ends just a bit.

Curve It a Bit

So for this you will need a small knife I highly recommend not using a big knife or anything else, I used a pocket knife and it worked perfectly. So take your pocket knife and mark up you clay that you will be attaching. Dip your finger in water and gently put it on both sides where the marks are.

Attaching

This is the tricky part. READ CLOSELY. Take your knife put it into your cactus arm somewhat toward the middle and drag the clay down to where you are attaching it smooth it out and repeat. Or if you are lazy you could let the arms day over night and glue them on with super glue bit that would waste 2 days. I had a video for this but it's isn't working.

Final Touches in Cactus

Get out some more clay. Start using the pinch pot method pinching the edges of the clay till you make a little bowl. Use a small bowl to put your clay in so that it keeps it's shape over night, but before I do that I want the edges to be smooth so I took a bit of water and smoothed out the edges. Then I let it sit till the water was absorbed into the clay. So now the clay was somewhat damp. I loosened up the edges so that when it was dry it didn't stick to the bowl.

Attaching Again and Gluing

Remove clay bowl from real bowl. Yay! Now you have the cactus and tiny tray thing that holds the cactus and other things. so just use some super glue put it on the bottom of the tray and on the bottom of the cactus then stick it together and let it dry I used quick dry super glue so it dried in like an hour or 30 minutes.

Painting

So I started out with a white and I just painted it so that it wasn't a mucky discussing white color and so that the paint would have something to stick to that was its texture. After the white base I painted the edge gold. Sense the bowl was a curve you could still see the white underneath, so I also painted that gold. Then I had one shade of green so I put a dark green in one side and then added the same color to a different circle pallet and mixed it with white to get a GORGEOUS light green. I painted the cactus light green then sprinkled some dark green spots onto it. I thought that wasn't enough for me so I added little gold dots. Yay modge podge time! The modge podge will add a nice glossy layer to make it feel a bit more finished and protect it from the paint chipping off. So I applied 3 layers of that and then MODLE TIME!
