Clay Blaster 1.0

20211125_191020.jpg

ping pong guns, are kind of toys that shoot ping pong balls by placing them between two spinning wheels. i was really inspired by these and now, i'm going to try to make a ping pong gun of my own(well, it's not actually a ping pong gun, but i think it'll work on them if i make it more larger).

Supplies

you will need:

a 3D printer and thing files

clay

colored markers(if needed)

motor & battery & switch & wire bits

Print Out the Files

print this file out. make it big as you can go, but not too big, since we need it to shoot clay balls.

Assemble & Electronics

now that we had all the parts printed out, assemble it like the picture from the step before. get some wires, battery pack, and a DC motor and wire it alltogether. after wiring it, hot glue it to the square part at the gun barrel. the DC motor should be spinning counter-clockwise(at the right side).

Clay Balls

now for the easiest part; clay balls! get some clay out and roll them into small balls. the width should fit the length from the wheel to the gun barrel. when you made 5~7 balls, pile them up the magazine at the back of the gun.

unfortunately, i forgot to take photo samples.

Decorate It

get out some markers and draw your name, favorite things, or anything you want to draw.

Done!

it's done! to fire, actavate the wheel first, wait for it to spin up a bit, and push the magazine up so the balls slide down and be launched to it's target. i think the maximum range with a DC motor is about 1 meter and a half(which pretty sucks)so maybe i'll revisit this project one day with ball blaster 2.0. check out my other projects, and i'll see you guys at the next project.
