Classic Rice Krispies Treats
In this Instructable, I will show you how to make classic rice krispies treats. Children and adults love these little cereal treats, and they couldn't be easier to make. If I can make these you can make them. Just three simple ingredients, and a few minutes of your time, and you are on your way to making some of the tastiest treats around! If I can do it, you can do it. Let's get started!

Follow the easy steps below or watch the short video tutorial, or do both. :)
Ingredients and Tools
Print the recipe here if you like.
Ingredients:
- 1 - 10 oz package of marshmallows (283g)
- 3 Tbsp of Butter (42g)
- 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal (150g)
Tools:
- Large pot
- 13x9 pan
- parchment paper
- wooden spoon or spatula
Melt That Butter
Place the butter in a large pot on the stovetop. Set the heat to medium-low and melt the butter until it is completely melted.
Melt the Marshmallows
Next, place all the marshmallows in the pot and stir them continually. For the first few minutes of stirring it won't seem like much is happening but then they will start melting for you. And you will be left with a nice smooth pot of melted marshmallow and butter goodness.
Dump and Spread
Now dump in all of that Rice Krispies cereal into the pot of melted marshmallow. Stir everything around with the wooden spoon until all the cereal is coated evenly. Then pour out the Rice Krispies into a greased 13x9 inch baking pan. Spread it out with a spatula until even.
Smoosh and Chill
Next, grab a piece of parchment paper and press down the Rice Krispies treats so they get nice and compact. Then leave the parchment paper on top and place the pan in the fridge to cool for 30 to 45 minutes until threats have set completely.
Cut and Serve
Now, just place the large rectangle Rice Krispies treat on a cutting board and cut it up into smaller squares. Easy as that! Enjoy!
