Circular Saw CrossCut Jig

This home made circular saw crosscut jig will add a precision cutting tool to your workshop at little cost. Hopefully my instructions are clear and easy to follow.

Getting Started

MATERIALS

  • Screws
  • Tape
  • Wood Glue
  • Scrap Wood

TOOLS

  • Circular Saw
  • Drill
  • Combination Square
  • Clamps

I already have a 100x30cm table that i used for the base. The other lumber are cutted 100cm for the side ones and 30cm the two front and back. I used this measurament because are well for my usage and are compatible with my circular saw, you'd make this based on your saw size and request. The result should be like the image above.

Build and Assemble

I applied some tape for hold in square the pieces then i used glue and screw for fix it. You'd screw first one guide, then use the saw to make sure the second guide will be perfectly distanciated and parallel.

Finishing

Apply some wax for smooth movement.

The cuts will be in square as much as squared the jig is. Mine are very close to 90 degrees angle so i'm happy whith this tools.
