Haven Final Project

Have you, a roommate, or a significant other asked the following question: “Is the dishwasher clean or dirty?”. I find myself opening the dishwasher and smelling, observing, and looking at various dishes to see if they have been through a washing cycle or not. To be quite honest, that is something I do not enjoy. If you are the same way! This project is for you! Here is how to make a fun Circuit Playground Dishwasher Signal and Timer!

Supplies

You will need:

-Circuit Playground

-Wood

-Paint or stain of choice

-Metallic Markers

-Red and Green Stickers

-Battery Pack

and

-Batteries

Step 1: Code Your Circuit Playground

For this project, you will need to acquire a Circuit Playground. Now that you have a Circuit Playground, it is time to code! Go ahead to MakeCode to code for the Circuit Playground. In the images is the code I used for my dishwasher signal and timer!

Step 2: Plan Your Design!

After you have coded your Circuit Playground, you can now assemble and design your dishwasher signal and timer! I have attached the photos I took to represent my design process and ideation.

Step 3: Paint

Now that you have your plan, let's paint! I painted my wood black for a sleek look. You can use whatever paint or stain you would like :)

Step 3: Add Your Circuit Playground!

Once your wood is dry, it is time to fix your Circuit Playground to the wood. I used command strips to place the Circuit Playground on the wood.

Step 5: Add Stickers and Instructions!

Once you have fixed your Circuit Playground, it is now time to add the rest. I used a metallic marker to write my key on the wood, I felt that it looked best with the black paint. Then I added the green and red stickers to the key and the corresponding buttons on the Circuit Playground.

Step 6: Grab Your Battery Pack!

Now, for the Circuit Playground to work, you will need to connect the battery pack with batteries to the Circuit Playground.

Step 7: Enjoy!
