Circuit Cat

I made a stuffed cat with eyes that glow when you push a button. I made this to test myself and to determine how good I am at designing and creating circuits.

Supplies

Materials used-

-Stuffed animal

-LEDs (2 count)

-Alligator clips (5 count)

-Conductive string

-Normal string

-Battery

-Battery holder

-Felt sheets

-scissors

-Conductive fabric

-Exacto-knife

-Sewing needle

Beginning this project you will want a detailed plan outlining the circuit that you will be installing onto the toy. First begin by identifying how to draw and label the battery, connections, LEDs, and buttons. You will also need an understanding on the difference between series and parallel structure. Drawing this diagram will help you to determine where to connect the wires in order to make the circuit work.

Construct the Circuit

To insure the functionality of your components, use alligator clips and build the circuit like you would on the toy. This is an essential step to ensure that you have designed your circuit correctly. If it doesn't work, reevaluate your design and try again.

Install the Circuit Onto Toy

As you are attaching the circuit to the toy, make sure to keep the wire close to the surface to try and limit touching wires on the inside of the toy. Also, try to avoid poking yourself with the needle, I learned that the hard way.

Test and Make Necessary Changes

Common issues might include, poor connections to battery, button, and lights, others could include touching wires cutting off the circuit. These issues can be easily resolved by tightening knots that you made and keeping track of every piece of wire that you have running through. And there you have it, you now have a slightly creepier version of the toy you had before.
