1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Mix both ingredients for the coating in a flat plate, set aside.

Set Up and Heat the Vegetable Oil

Fill up your pot with vegetable oil about 1.5 inches from the bottom, and place on the stove at medium high heat.

Begin Creating the Churro Mixture

IMG_9883.JPG

Mix the butter, water, sugar and salt into a large saucepan and put in in the stove at medium heat. Begin stirring until the mixture starts bubbling then lower the heat, and prepare for the next step.

Continue the Churro Mixture

Slowly add in the flour one spoonful at a time. Add a spoonful and mix, once it is incorporated into the mixture, continue adding flour until finished. You should have a dough-like texture in the saucepan.

Cool the Churro Mixture

Move the dough into a bowl and let cool for about seven minutes.

Finish the Churro Mixture

Add in the vanilla, mix, and after it is incorporated add the egg (make sure the mixture is cool enough so the egg won't cook). After this step you should have more of a batter like substance as shown in the picture.

Add It Into a Piping Bag

Place the mixture into the piping bag using a spatula or spoon, make sure the mixture is near the end of the bag, add the piping tip and twist to set.

Begin Frying

Pipe about 1-2 inches of churro dough right above the oil and use some scissors to cut the desired length of the churro. Be careful with the distance between your hands, the piping bag, and the oil, as the oil can burn you if not done correctly.

Take the Churros Out of the Pot

When the churros are golden brown, carefully take out the churros using special supplies for hot oil or a spoon and place in the coating. Then, move the churro bites around the plates so they can be coated all around.

Make the Dip

Slowly add in the Nutella into the milk and mix until completely combined, then place in a small bowl so you can dip the churro bites.

Enjoy!
