Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal in 15 Minutes

I love oats. Oats are a species of cereal grain grown for its seed, which is known by the same name (Or, that's what Wikipedia says).

Anyway, oats can be made into oatmeal, which is tasty, simple, healthy, filling, and is great for brunches!

What You Need

  • 1 cup raw rolled oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 apple, peeled
  • 4 tsp brown sugar
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon
  • Large splash of milk
  • Raisins, pecans, and/or other nuts/berries/dried fruit (optional)

Prepare the Ingredients

Combine the oats, water, brown sugar, and milk in a pan. Slice the apple into four pieces and set aside one piece for garnishing. Chop the remaining three slices into cubes and add to the pot.

Cook the Oats

Turn the heat onto medium-high and cook until the oatmeal starts bubbling (about 5 minutes), stirring occasionally.

Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir occasionally until the apples are soft, about 5-8 minutes.

Serve It

Turn off the heat and dish the oatmeal into a heat-resistant bowl. Sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts/fruit (if using) on top. Cut the remaining apple into slices and arrange on top.
