Make Pie Crust

Pie Crust Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup chilled butter
- 1/2 cup water
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Mix together flour and salt
- Cut butter into mixture until coarse crumbs form
- Add water 1 tablespoon at a time and continue to knead until dough forms
- Do not over work the dough. Once a ball forms let it chill in the fridge for 30 minutes
- Roll out dough into a circle and place in pie pan. Cut excess dough off from around the edges. Pie border techniques can be found here.
- Blind bake for 8-10 minutes by lining the pie tin with parchment or foil and weighing down with dried beans or rice (see example here)
- This pie is usually fine if you put the filling into a raw pie crust and bake if you put foil around the edges of the pie pan.
