Cinnabacon Piglets

Pig-shaped cinnamon buns with a bacon surprise inside!

Ingredients

Bacon:

  • 6 strips of bacon
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

Dough:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2.5 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 package dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoon)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp room temperature butter
  • 1 egg

Filling:

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp room temperature butter

You will also need:

  • Toothpicks
  • Mini muffin pan
  • Edible Marker

Ingredients:

  • 6 strips of bacon
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

You will also need:

  • Toothpicks
  • Mini muffin pan
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Take a strip of bacon and lay it out flat.
  3. Sprinkle it with brown sugar.
  4. Roll it up.
  5. Skewer it with a toothpick.
  6. Place into the cavity of a mini muffin pan.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Allow the bacon to cool before removing toothpicks.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2.5 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 package dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoon)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp room temperature butter
  • 1 egg
  1. In a large bowl stir together 1 cup flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
  2. In a saucepan, heat milk over medium heat until very warm, but not boiling.
  3. Add the warm milk, butter and egg to the flour mixture.
  4. Stir until everything is combined.
  5. Add in remaining flour until you have soft dough.
  6. Knead the dough for 3 minutes, then place it into a bowl and cover with plastic wrap.
  7. Let it rise for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  8. Divide the dough into 7 pieces.
  9. Take 6 of those pieces and use your hands, flatten them into circles that are approximately 4-5 inches in diameter.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp room temperature butter
  1. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and the cinnamon.
  2. Spread 1 tsp butter on each circle and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  3. Place a roll of bacon in the center of the circle.
  4. Gather the edges of the circle around the bacon to form a ball and pinch edges together to seal the bacon inside.
  5. Place onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 30 minutes.

  1. For the snout, take the 7th ball of dough and pinch off a piece of dough about the size of an almond.
  2. Flatten it into an oval and stick it with 2 toothpicks or 1 toothpick broken in half. Attach it to the front of the bun where the snout should be.
  3. Take 3 small pieces of dough and form them into teardrops. Take 2 and stick the base of each teardrop into the head of each pig where the ears should be.
  4. Take the 3rd one and stick it to the back where the tail should be.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 13 minutes or until golden brown.

Once the little piglets are out of the oven, take an edible marker and draw the eyes. Now you can enjoy your super cute and delicious cinnabacon piglets!
