Chunky Guacamole

This is yet another recipe I adopted from my mother. It's a little different take on guacamole, due to it's chunky texture, but either way it's still a classic summertime picnic staple.

The ingredients:

  • 4-5 Avocados
  • 1 Clove of Garlic, minced
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 2 Tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 Cup of Cilantro, minced
  • 2 Limes
  • 1 JalapeƱo
  • 1 tsp. of Salt

The Golden Ratio

Not all ingredients are created equal, so I tried to create a proportion-based visual to help find the correct ratio. Once you are able to find the desirable amounts, the recipe is amazingly simple:

Scoop out the avocados and dice the onions and tomatoes. Mince the garlic, cilantro, and jalapeƱos and add all these ingredients to a mixing bowl, squeeze the two limes on top. I use a fork to mix, as it helps incorporate the avocados more evenly.

Next, add salt after tasting with a chip. Make adjustments as needed. Enjoy!
