It seems that Kiwi's like chunky jewelry, so I decided that what would be better than using cutlery. I'm probably entering this in the jewelry competition and maybe the trash to treasure so would greatly appreciate your votes.
I knocked this up during a lunch break at work, the fork was $1 NZ from an opshop

The "ingredients"

So as I said a opshop fork and a long socket and extension bar
(Quite a pretty fork though)
The fork is stainless steel so I heated it up using a blowtorch to anneal (soften)
it, I then allowed it to cool

Flatten the Fork

As it says I chucked the thing in a vice between two pieces of wood and flattened it

Bend the Tines (first Bend)

While the fork is flat I used the long socket and extension to bend the fork tines out of the way for the next stage

Fold Over the Handle

I folded the handled back on itself as shown, I used a nail to leave a small "chain" loop

Carry on Bending

Using the socket and extension bar I carried on bending the tines to the desired position

Bending Finished

Eventually all the tines were in the correct position that I wanted (resembling an octopus)
At this point I gave it a quick clean and polish with some scotchbrite and elbow grease

Add the Chain

I found a nice stainless steel chain that could attach to the chain loop
And there it is finished, just have to persuade someone that it's art and they should wear it!!! :-)
