Christmas Tree Money Origami

A quick tutorial on how to create an Origami Christmas tree out of new UK £5 notes.

Step 1: Fold Your Note in Half

Step 2: Folder the Corners in Towards Each Other As Shown

Make sure you do this for both sides of the folds.

The new notes are a little resilient to folding sometimes. Put them under something heavy for a short while and they'll stick down better.

Step3: Fold the Two Newly Created Points Towards Each Other.

Make sure you're folding them into themselves as such.

Step 4: Folder the Corners Sticking Out Behind the Triangle and Tuck Away From View.

This part is normally very resistant to folding over so might need some time under a heavy object (An Argos catalog/ Yellow Pages)

Step 5: You Should End Up With It Looking Like This

Repeating three times or however many tiers you want on your tree.

Step 6: Add a Stump

The stump is created by folding a note into a small rectangle.

You can put this in a card or do whatever you feel is best. As the triangles aren't attached I opted stacking them on top of each other and putting it on top of a Christmas cake. I just made a small cut in the icing with a knife and slotted the base into the gap.
