Christmas Paper String Lights

[Tutorial + Template] *FREE* Christmas Paper String Lights

Kicking off the 2018 holiday season with this easy and quick paper crafting template. Decorate your doorway, mantel, or railing with this paper string light. Use bright cardstock for the bulb strips and string them in fun patterns.

Materials Needed:

  • Paper String Light Template Get template in the YouTube Description
  • Glue
  • Cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Hole Punch/X-acto knife
  • String
  • Tape

Print and cut your template onto cardstock of desired colours. Cut on solid lines and score on dashed lines. Use a hole punch to help cut holes.

Fold the bulb strip in half then push the folded end in to create the bulb shape.

Fold along the score lines of the base piece before gluing it into a loop - making sure that the holes are aligned.

After the glue dries on the base piece, pinch the sides to form a hexagonal opening. Feed the end of the bulb strip into the base making sure to align the holes.

Tape the end of your string so that the fibres do not fray when you thread your lights. Push the string through all the holes of the lights - 20 lights make a string approximately 2.5 feet (76 cm) long.
