Chopstick Crossbow Arrows

In this instructable I will show you how to make simple arrows from chopsticks. These arrows aren't very sharp so they are petty safe but they are still sharp enough for target practice. Note: By target practice I mean shooting at foam blocks or straw bails not cats, dogs, cars, or grandfathers.

Materials and Tools

You will need these materials:
  •  Chopsticks. (Bet you had guessed you would need those)
  • Plastic. (This is for the arrow fins. You could also use cardboard but it won't be as watterproof)
  • Scotch Tape.

You will need these tools:
  •  Hobby knife.

Cut Your Fins

Now that you have all that stuff, let's get started. Your first step is to cut a triangle out of the plastic. This triangle can be pretty much any shape you want but it should be no more than an inch in any direction.

Split Your Chopstick

Now comes the tricky part. You need to put a small split in your chopstick. This is for the fins to go in. You want the split to be no longer than two inches.

Add Your Fins

The next step is to add your fins. To do this slide your plastic triangle up to the top of the split in your chopstick. Once you have the fins in you may have to slide them to make sure they are evenly spaced.

Finishing Up

The final step is taping. Hold the chopstick together and tape behind the fins. Also tape in front off the fins this is so that the chopstick won't split more. You also want to tape the fins to the chopstick.

And now, if you did everything right, you should have a nice crossbow arrow.
