Chocolate Tray Candle

Reuse/Recycle an old Ferrero Rocher chocolate tray in to a candle. You could even use brown wax dye and a nutty or chocolate-y scent to compliment the Ferrero Rocher theme.

Materials you will need:

• Candle wax (Either broken candles or fresh wax)
• Candle wax dye
• Candle scent
• Candle Wicks (nine)
• Empty Ferrero Rocher tray
• A pan and a hob to heat your wax on

Break up your candles and add the wax to your pan, putting the hob on medium heat so that you don't burn the wax to the pan or make a complete mess. Once your wax is melted add your scent and your dye.

Stick bluetack to the bottom of your shortened candle wicks and place then in sequence along the bottom of your plastic tray. I used a 3 by 3 grid so that when the candle is lit the wax melts evenly.

You could use superglue or hot glue to keep the wicks in place as an alternative.

Use clothes pegs to keep your wicks standing when you pour hot wax around them, balancing the pegs around the edge of the tray.

Once your wax is completely melted leave it to cool for some while.

(You don't want to pour boiling wax in to plastic or you might end up with a massive molten mess on your hands. I kind of guessed at what would be an appropriate temperature and it was just above room temperature.)

Let your candle dry at it's own pace. If you stick it in the fridge the wax might pinch and get distorted. But once it is completely dry you can trim the wick's down using fabric scissors and stick the lid back on to complete your product.

And now you've got yourself a sleek looking tray candle.

If you'd like to personalize it a bit more then you could print a sticker to cover up the impossible to remove 'Ferrero Rocher' label on the lid of the tray.
