Chocolate Tortellini Filled With Coconut and White Chocolate
For who loves chocolate in any shape and form! These chocolate tortellini are the new horizon of chocolate. White inside and dark outside, is chocolate all around!
Supplies
Recipe for 2 people
For the Pasta dough:
- 100 gr of Flour
- 10 gr of cocoa powder
- 2 medium eggs
- 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
- 1 tsp of salt
For the filling:
- 100 gr of white chocolate
- 50 gr of dark chocolate
- 200 mL of double cream
- 3 tbsp of coconut flour
- 1 tbsp of butter
- 100 mL of milk
Prepare the Pasta Dough
Sift the flour and the cocoa powder and dig a little hole in the mountain of powder. Place the two eggs and start mixing. Once the dough starts to have a more steady shape, add the oil and salt and keep kneading the dough.
Once the dough is ready, cover it in cling film and let it rest for at least 30 min.
Prepare the Filling
Use 90gr of white chocolate with the butter. When the two are completely melted add the coconut flour and keep mixing.
Once the flour has been completely mixed add the milk and mix it until the cream hardens a little bit. Let the mixture rest until completely cold.
If you like a different type of filling, you can choose whatever you like, just make sure that the filling has the right consistency.
Prepare the Whipped Cream
Chop he dark chocolate into small pieces.
Whip the double cream and add the pieces of chopped chocolate. Mix carefully, with a slow movement to allow a thorough mixing.
Roll the Pasta
Roll out the pasta dough until reaching a 1mm (or less) thickness. It will take a while as the dough is a bit though at the beginning, but you will get there!
Be sure that your pasta is as thin as possible otherwise, it will be tough to eat.
Shape the Tortellini
Time to shape the tortellini. Cut the dough in equal squares. Usually a tortellino is 2.5cmx2.5cm but you can do the size you prefer!
- Place the filling in the square
- Fold the tortellino in a triangle.
- Make sure that each side is completely closed (if some filling comes out use a tissue to clean it)
- Press the sides of the tringle towards the filling (look at the image)
- Take the two vertices at the end of the sides that you just manipulated and close them in a circle around your finger.
Easy to see than to describe! Look at the GIF for the instructions or feel free to comment and ask!
Boil the Tortellini
As you would do for pasta, boil some water and once the water started boiling add the pasta. The tortellini will sink in the water, when they start floating it means you can take them out because they are ready.
Plate and Enjoy!
Plate as you like, grate a bit of white chocolate to reproduce a grated parmesan effect and enjoy the tortellini!
