Chocolate Oreo Trifle
This Chocolate Oreo Trifle is perfect for a hot summer day with a crunchy Oreo crumble base, smooth chocolate pudding and fluffy whipped cream throughout. Coated with a layer of dark chocolate shreds.
Supplies
- Stand mixer
- 9 x 13 Casserole dish
- Knives
- Whisk
- Food Processor
- Spatula
- Large bowl
Ingredients:
Whipped Cream:
-2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
-6-8 tablespoons of Sugar
-2 teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
Chocolate Pudding:
Instant pudding mix
Remaining Parts of Trifle:
-36 Oreo Cookies
6 Tablespoons of Butter
-8 Ounces of Cream Cheese
-1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
-2 tablespoons Milk
2 3/4 cups Milk
-2 bars of 100% Dark Chocolate
Crushed Oreo Base
1. Taking the 36 oreos, crush them (cookie and filling combined) in a food processor
2. Combine crushed cookies and melted butter
3. Using the back of a spoon or the bottom of the measuring cup, press oreo combination in the bottom of the casserole dish to form the bottom layer
Making of the Whipped Cream: Soft Peaks
1. Pour heavy whipping cream into a mixing bowl
2. On medium speed, whip until soft peaks form
Making of Whipped Cream: Stiff Peaks
1. Add in sugar and vanilla
2. Whip until stiff peaks form
Adding Cream Cheese
1. Add cream cheese to the whipped cream and beat with a hand mixer until fully mixed
2. Add in 2 tablespoons of milk and sugar and mix together
First Layering of Trifle
1. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cookies crust and pop it into the fridge to set for about 10 minutes.
Making the Pudding
1. Using one whole packet of Instant pudding, follow the directions on the package.
Adding the Pudding to the Trifle
1. Once chocolate pudding is made, spread the mixture over the cream cheese layer.
2. Then, put back into the fridge to set for another 10 minutes.
Adding the Rest of the Whipped Cream to the Trifle
1. Once set, gently spread the remaining whipped cream over the top.
Adding the Chocolate Shreds to the Top of Trifle
1. Once the rest of the whipped cream is spread over the trifle, dice up some dark chocolate in into little chunks/shreds.
2. Once chocolate shreds/chunks are made sprinkle them on top of the trifle.
Covering Trifle and Putting It Into the Fridge
1. Cover with plastic wrap and let chill for at least 4 hours in the fridge or 1 hour in the freezer before you slice.
2. Once chilled slice it, serve it, and enjoy it!
