I've always loved Harry Potter, especially the coziness and magic of the first movie and book. This project is inspired by the chocolate frog box, wizard cards, and chocolate frogs from Honeydukes. The box and wizard cards are a free template from thequietgrove.com, feel free to check out all of the other awesome free templates they have over there and show your support! They have many different wizard cards you can print out, I just chose Dumbledore for this project.

The chocolate frog you'll have to make yourself and if this version is too advanced or hard to understand, I have a simpler origami frog tutorial already posted. I might not be able to explain every detail in every step, so just follow the pictures as best as you can.

Supplies

For this project you will need the chocolate frog box and wizard cards template from thequietgrove.com or other sites, scissors, glue, card stock or any thick paper, and a square sheet of brown paper.

Print and Cut

1.First print the box the box template and wizard cards out onto card stock paper so they will hold their shape.

2.Next cut them out.

Fold and Glue

1.Fold on all of the bolded lines on the lid.

2.On the bottom of the box there should be five flaps protruding from the center. Fold them on the line closest to the center so the purple is on the outside. Fold the other line the other way and fold the flaps towards the center.

3.Put glue on all of the white flaps on the top and connect them.

4.The two triangles on the bottom of the lid should move up to meet at the center, so make sure they aren't connected to the white flaps in the middle, or it won't work.

5.Put glue on all of the little white flaps on the bottom and glue them to the outer half of the flap to the right of them. This will make the unique shape of the chocolate frog boxes.

6.Glue the loose flap on the top of the box to the white part on the outside of the bottom. This will be the hinge of the box.

Glue the loose flap on the top of the box to the white part on the outside of the bottom. This will be the hinge of the box.

Now you have finished the box and it's time to move on to the wizard card.

Wizard Card

This next part is pretty straightforward.

1.Cut out your selected wizard card and fold on the line separating the two halves.

2.Put glue on the white parts and put them together evenly so no white is showing. You can trim the edges a little if necessary.

3.Place the card in the box as shown above.

The Chocolate Frog

1.Start with a square piece of brown paper. I suggest a smaller piece of paper so you don't risk it being bigger than the box. However you can make the frog squish a little bit so it doesn't have to be super precise.

2.Fold diagonally both ways and in half horizontally.

3.Keep it folded horizontally and fold both flaps to the middle.

4.Fold the outside flap down in half.

5.Unfold the whole thing and fold it in half the other way.

6.Fold the outside flap in half again. Whether it's up or down depends on which way your paper is.

7.If you unfold the paper, you will see it makes half of a fan; fold the side with only one fold like the one we just did.

8.Fold each of those sections in half, so it makes a fan with twice the amount of ripples. (Some of the pre-existing valley folds will have to become mountain folds and vise versa for it to work.)

9.Fold the outside two sections inward, and fold the top and bottom inward as well. Fold them in as much as the sections on the side are. The top and bottom folds don't have to be perfect and they won't because there are no guides. Since the folds will inhabit the same space in the corners, fold the corners as shown in picture 3.

10.Same as step 9 except the folds will be mountain folds instead of valley folds.

11.Ignore the protruding corners for this step. Fold two adjacent corners of the square to the center point. This will be the frog's head.

12.Repeat step 9, 10, then 9 again.

13.Keep going until you have just two sections from the side. Leave two folds undone on the top. (picture 4)

Try your best to smooth it out as much as possible.

By this time it should start actually looking like a frog. Now we will finish it.

14.Fold the front legs back and then down.

15.Fold the middle segment of the front legs in toward the body.

16.Fold the legs toward the center on the second line from the center, and back toward the outside on the fourth line. Then refold the last fold as shown in picture 5.

17.Follow the pictures for how to make the feet and follow them for both the front and back feet.

Finished!

All done! You can see the the frog fits comfortably in the box with room to spare! This project took a long time to do, so I would really appreciate if you would share it and show your support! And as always, if you ever have any questions or are confused on a step, don't hesitate to contact me and ask!
