Gather Things Needed
Double Stuffed Oreo cookies
Whoppers candy
Candy corn
Mini peanut butter cups
Milk chocolate chips
Vegetable shortening
Buttercream frosting (Red, white, black and orange)
Small round decorator tip
Make Chocolate Dipping Sauce
In a microwave safe bowl add your chocolate chips and 2 tbls plus 2 tsps of shortening. Microwave for 1 minute and stir. Then microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between each just until the chocolate has melted and is a smooth consistency.
Dip Oreo Cookies
Dip the Oreo cookies into the melted chocolate. I inserted a wooden skewer into the cookie for dipping. Tap the excess chocolate off. Place the dipped cookie onto parchment or wax paper. Before the chocolate sits, add 5 pieces of candy corn into the oreo cookie to make the tail feathers.
Place the cookies into the refrigerator until they harden completely
Prep Peanut Butter Cups
Cut a small slice off one side of the peanut butter cup so it sits flat.
Make the Beak
Using a sharp knife cut off the white part of the candy corn. You will need 1 for each of the turkeys.
Put the Turkeys Together
Using black buttercream, spread a generous amount on one edge of a plain Oreo. Attach it to a dipped Oreo.
Put a small amount of buttercream on the flat side of a peanut butter cup. Place it in the center of the plain Oreo, with the larger round end touching the dipped Oreo to make the body..
Add a small amount of buttercream on a Whopper and attach it to the top of the peanut butter cup touching the dipped Oreo to make the head.
Attach the beak to the Whopper with some white buttercream.
Put them in the refrigerator to allow the buttercream to harden.
NOTE: You could use melted chocolate instead of the buttercream
Decorate Your Turkeys
Using a small round decorator tip add eyes using black buttercream.
Switch to orange buttercream and add some feet for your turkey.
Using red buttercream add his ugly gobbler.
Store them in an air tight container in the refrigerator until time to serve.
