Chocolate Covered Scone Bar Recipe:
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (more for dusting)
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ cup sugar
- ¾ cup milk (I used dairy free)
- ¾ cup butter (un-salted)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup melted chocolate for coating
Recipe Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees
In a large bowl combine flour, salt, baking powder and sugar; add butter to the flour. Use forks to cut the margarine into the flour until it resembles a course meal.
Mix the egg and milk in a small bowl, and stir into flour mixture until the dough is moist. Place dough on lightly flour counter and began to knead dough until the dough becomes soft. Grease a 3 quart baking dish and place the dough into the baking dish. Work the dough to the edges of the dish and place in the oven for 10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool; once cool take the scone out of dish and began frosting with melted chocolate. Cut into squares and enjoy.
