Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Honey Bars

Peanut butter, honey and chocolate are just delicious together! First, I made Peanut Butter Honey Cookie Pops that gathered together all of these ingredients. I was craving them again, but didn't want to go through all that work. So I have created a bar version that is easy to throw together.

Make Your Bars

Preheat your oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit

Time to make your bars! Spread your cookie mix in your baking pan. Bake for about 13 minutes. They don't have to be all the way cooked.

Take them out.

Honey!

Stab your bars! You don't have to stab them all the way through. You just want to get some holes for the honey to seep into. Pour on some honey. I didn't pour on a certain amount. Just try not to pour too much or it will mess up the rest of the cooking.

Place back in the oven for about 5 minutes. You want them cooked all the way, but it might be hard to tell because of the honey. Don't be too picky.

Frost With Chocolate

Once they are done, most of the honey should have seeped in.

Melt your chocolates and spread it along the top of the bars. You might have to let the bars cool for a while so you don't tear them apart trying to spread the chocolate on.

Cut and Serve

They will probably stay fairly soft so go ahead and cut them up and serve them whenever you want.

Mistakes!

The first day I went to make these I ran into many messes.

First: mixing in the honey

I thought it would be cool to mix the honey right into the cookie mix and bake the bars like this. This did not work. I don't know how long I ended up baking them but they just kept going back in the oven. They were edible, but didn't really taste like peanut butter or honey. Just tasted sweet.

Second: Too much honey

The first time I made them the right way, I poured on too much honey and they were just soo sticky. They were, again, edible, just very sweet and very messy to eat. If you want to add too much honey that is up to you :)

Third: Adding Rice Krispies

I just had some there so I thought I would add them as the base of the bars. They didn't really stick to the bars so it was just messy.
