Here are the things you need. You can use your favorite recipe for chocolate cupcakes or used a boxed cake mix. I usually used boxed cake mixes because it is easier.

Need
Boxed Cake Mix- and ingredients needed to make it
1 Cup Powder Sugar
1 can of frosting
2 Tbsp Cherry Extract
1 large jar of maraschino cherries with stems
1/8 Cup candy melt chocolates or chocolate chips (If you would like to dip the cherry that goes on top of the cupcake in chocolate)
12 Cella's chocolate coveried cherries (If you would like them on the inside of cupcake-makes the cupcakes gooey on the inside)

Prepare for Baking

Make the cake mix according to the directions, cut all but 12 of the cherries in small pieces (the other 12 will be placed on top of the cupcakes when finished), put the cut pieces of cherry inside the batter, then add some of the juice from the jar of cherries to the batter, and then mix 1 Tbsp of the cherry extract into the batter as well. Spoon the batter into your cupcake papers inside your cupcake pan. If you plan on using the Cella's chocolate covered cherries inside the cupcakes, then you will place one inside the batter after spooning the batter into the pan.  Bake according to the directions on the cake mix box.

After your cupcakes are cooked and cooled then you will make the frosting. I used one can of frosting, and then I mix 1 cup of powder sugar to it, so that you can decorate with it. Then mix 1 Tbsp cherry extract to the frosting. Once everything is mixed then place the cake decorator tip into your bag, and fill the bag with the frosting. I used a star shaped decorator tip, and then start on the outside and sqeeze the frosting around in a circle until it is completly covered with frosting, then add the cherry on top :) (If you want a chocolate covered cherry on top, then melt your chocolate chips in the microwave for a minute, and then dip the cherry in the chocolate before you place it on top)
